Price guide
Outpatient appointments
The fee for a new outpatient consultation with one of our consultants will not exceed £225. All follow-up appointments will not exceed £140 per consultation and do not include any diagnostic test or imaging fees.
Please also note that any injections administered during the consultation are not included in the price.
Following your consultation you may need certain tests (such as blood tests or imaging, for example X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI or CT scan) to help diagnose your condition. If the test is undertaken by the clinic or hospital, and not by a SOL consultant, the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic or hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately.
Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees. Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
Inpatient/procedure fees
The hospital where you choose to have your treatment will determine a fixed price quote for that treatment. The fixed price covers all costs relating to your care after initial consultation and any tests recommended. It is made up of your surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist fees, hospital fees such as nursing, accommodation, food, etc and the price of any necessary prosthesis from our standard range – if you need one.
Your hospital fees cover everything for as long as you need to stay in hospital – so you won’t get any unexpected bills if, for clinical reasons, you need to stay longer than planned.
Your Consultant will discuss your options and cost of any treatments / procedures at your consultation.
Please note that all follow-up consultations and any further imaging tests (X-rays, scans etc) are not included in the fixed price quote. Lastly, please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charges which they do not pay.
