Mr Halsey has enjoyed a broad and extensive training in hand and wrist surgery with jobs in Bristol, London and Cambridge, followed by fellowships in London and Melbourne, Australia. He has also visited centres of excellence in Lyon, Reims and Paris to learn advanced wrist arthroscopy. His interest in wrist trauma was further developed through an AO Trauma Fellowship in Salzburg, Austria.
Mr Halsey has published, presented and won national prizes for research articles related to hand, wrist and orthopaedic surgery. He enjoys teaching, is faculty for AO Trauma courses and is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers. Tim is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and a Visiting Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University where he is part of an international group involved with research into climber’s hand injuries.
Tim enjoyed working as a substantive Consultant Hand & Wrist Surgeon at the combined Ortho-Plastic Hand Unit at Chelsea & Westminster hospital in London for 4 years, commuting from the Peak District. He is now appreciating the benefits of working closer to home!
Away from work he can usually be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife Rachel, who is a physio, and their three children.
