I graduated from medical school in South India (2003) and completed Specialist Orthopaedic training in Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Liverpool.
I was a Research fellow at the Nottingham Spine unit (2008-09) and have advanced fellowship experience as AO North America Spine Fellow (2017-18) at the Vancouver Spine surgery Institute and Paediatric Spine fellow (2018-19) at Alder Hey Children’s hospital in Liverpool.
My full time NHS practice as consultant spinal surgeon is based at Northern General hospital and Sheffield Children’s treating adult and paediatric spinal conditions.
I have an extensive clinical research experience with published papers in peer reviewed journals and several scientific presentations at National and International conferences.
My research interests are around spinal tumours, registry-based studies, and intraoperative navigation in scoliosis surgery.
I have a keen interest to be a Surgeon trainer – educator and am engaged in educational activities for surgical trainees and medical students including the lead role for Undergraduate Orthopaedic training at Sheffield teaching hospitals.
I can treat all adult spinal problems including deformity, trauma, and degenerative conditions.
