James Stoddard is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Having qualified at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2002, James completed his Basic Surgical Training in the North East.
He then took the opportunity to achieve a higher research degree, an MD, under the supervision of Internationally recognised Professor of Biomechanical Engineering, Andrew Amis at Imperial College , London.
James was appointed onto the South Yorkshire Higher Surgical Training Scheme in 2007 and achieved the status of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012, and awarded his completion of training in 2013.
He developed an interest for Knee Surgery throughout his training and completed 2 separate Fellowships, working in Harrogate with Mr Nick London and in Coventry under the guidance of Mr Tim Spalding.
He was appointed as a Consultant in Sheffield in November 2014 with a subspecialty interest in Knee Surgery including soft tissue reconstruction, arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery, both partial and total joint replacement. He continues to develop his keen interest for research and has a number of peer reviewed publications and presentations both nationally and internationally.
