Background

Jez Brown is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee surgery employed by the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS trust and an honorary clinical lecturer at the university of Sheffield. He is a founding member and partner of Sheffield Orthopaedics Limited, a local group of surgeons dedicated to providing high quality orthopaedic care to active people of all ages.

He trained in Sheffield and on the South Yorkshire Orthopaedic training rotation. He also spent a year at the prestigious sportsmed clinic in Adelaide Australia whereas a fellow he was able to develop and finetune proven surgical techniques to manage sports injuries, particularly in the knee. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, The British Association of surgery for the knee and a founding member of the 2020 group, and national network of top knee surgeons who meet to advance knee surgery through education and discussion.

He has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years to provide a practical and no-nonsense approach to solving knee problems.

He is still actively engaged in teaching the Orthopaedic Surgeons of the future. As well as training local registrars on the orthopaedic training program.  He runs a fellowship with colleagues in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals to enable them to gain knowledge and surgical skills in advanced knee soft tissue conditions.

Jez offers a range of soft tissue knee procedures from cartilage and soft tissue knee procedures from cartilage and ligament repairs through the joint replacement with a particular reference to partial knee replacement.  Indeed, he is a pioneer of partial knee surgery having been part of the international development group linking with colleagues in the United States of America, Australia and Europe to advance and spread the understanding of modern arthroplasty technique.
